V-Man's Application: For Great Justice!
After a 4th and final invite (and much encouragement from all), please accept this as my official application to join DES clan.
1. (in game name) V-Man
2. (how long you been playing) Since December 15, 2009; at the time of this application, 2 months and 2 weeks.
3. (have you been in any other clan) No.
4. (are you in any other clan) No.
6. (how old are you currently) 25. (No, really, Medusa.)
5. (why do you want to be on DES?) *deep breath*
DES is the only clan as dedicated, and elite, as I think a clan should be. Other clans have either not shown such a standard, or have not gone out of their way to make me feel accepted (#M|A#TheCrema's bestowal of admin status upon me being a recent exception -- I'd be ungrateful to not mention that here). DES members are much more personal, friendly, and skilled than other clans, and I have seen no indication of controversy or accusation that could mar the DES reputation. To the contrary, DES is one of the most contributing clans in AssaultCube: More DES maps have been made official than any other clans'; more mods come from DES clan than any other; and the community presence of DES is among the most formidable in terms of sagacity in advice, mutual respect, and contributions to game preservation efforts (such as the blacklist). To me, a clan ought to be something a person can try to live up to, in all the areas I've just mentioned. Since only DES could do that for me, it's the only clan I should join.
Additionally, I want to be with DES (or DES should want me) because I feel like I have some useful contributions both by way of actual gameplay (I'm pretty handy with SMG) and in-game tools and methods. I've written several useful scripts (especially with GeneralDisarray's invaluable help, recently) that I'd love to share with DES as a sort of "clan-only / secret weapon arsenal" of sorts. I'm also (again, using GeneralDisarray like a crutch) poring over the AssaultCube source code so that I can understand it, in my ambition to become a contributing developer (whether by title or not) in future releases of the game. A few of my other ambitions I have kept to myself in anticipation of being able to share them with a clan.

my introduction, if you haven't already, or if your eyes aren't already bleeding from trying to process this wall of text that is my talkativeness.
Please feel free to ask me other pertinent questions. In my opinion, there are many other things that ought to be considered when someone expresses sincere intentions of joining a clan.
I must apologize for my absence from actual gameplay the past couple of days, and for the next little while (possibly 2 weeks), as my access to the internet will be quite limited. I've still been able to check my e-mail twice a day and connect to IRC during my little free time, but committing to a game or match has been impossible and I've no way to ensure that could change until March 12.
